AGAPE FARM B&B PAONIA COLORADO
Have you ever felt you were strongly drawn somewhere with no idea why? When I was googling organic farms to visit, the town of Paonia, Colorado kept showing up. There are lots of organic farms in this area, but the Agape farm retreat is the most delightful bed and breakfast one could ever wish for. It is beautiful, like being in paradise, with a very calming feel to it. Great views from the windows, comfortable beds and fabulous homemade breakfast! I feel we could have stayed a week and not be bored! We were on our way to Denver – we only had two nights, which was lovely, but would love to have had more time and certainly plan on going back next year.
They even have a yurt with its own little deck and use of a barbecue and a picnic table for those really wanting their own space. We stayed in the house and were very comfortable, and there was a very nice sitting area and deck to enjoy the peace and quiet.
It so happened we had planned a summer road trip to visit family in Denver, so we decided it would be nice to drive through Telluride and see some of the south west side of Colorado on the way, and this quaint little town was not far out of our way.
Paonia is a small town surrounded by beautiful countryside, farms, wineries, organic healthy farmers markets, and is a very friendly town. I loved the little country roads and miles of scenic drives, with lots of farm stands selling fresh produce!
The area had a really good feel to it with very scenic drives through quaint country roads. Parts of it really reminded me of the English countryside, and the closer we got, the more I loved the feel of the energy there. It just felt very conscious and healthy and so very green!
When we pulled up outside Agape Farm retreat, I almost immediately felt the tension leave my body, surrounded by hundreds of beautiful, tall sunflowers, organic gardens, apple trees, goji berries, cherries and lots of grape vines! We were able to pick fresh fruits right from the trees and they tasted so sweet and amazingly full of nutrition.
Nancy and her son Nick were the most amazing hosts. They thought of everything to make their guests visit very welcoming and relaxing. There was something really special about the energy there, and it sure felt more like a healing sanctuary. Nancy suggested we sit barefoot under the two very large trees at the front of the house. WOW! Those trees felt like a major rejuvenation, we felt so relaxed, pain free and in the moment. With all the beautiful nature surrounding us the healing energy felt wonderful.
The property is very large with lots of different gardens, orchards, grape vines and a special forest just a short walk away, which many guests have mentioned had a very special feel to it ; they mentioned feeling a sense of healing being in there and even ailments they had improved.
When we left we were able to take some fresh picked goji berries and they were so delicious and nutritious. The retreat B&B seems to attract people who are drawn to the healing energy. Also, the whole town has a good feel with all the local fresh produce, and a lovely farm to table restaurant. We visited the farm which had its own restaurant. It was very interesting to see how veggies were picked and on the table in such a short time. So very fresh for the restaurant to prepare and the food tasted amazing!
If you would like to see a very different part of Colorado visit Paonia and stay at the Agape farm B&B! You will not regret it!
