Sedona! It is a healing place for sure, we feel the energy of conscious living as soon as we see those beautiful red rocks and trees. Out of the crowds in town there are a number of fabulous hikes and scenic drives. Don’t be afraid to adventure and explore areas away from the shops. There are so many nice stops all around Sedona, you could spend a week and not see it all!
We are not big into staying in fancy large hotels and would rather be camping or staying in a cabin, surrounded by peace, trees and birds. Cabins are nice as they are still close to nature with some of the comforts of home. Lately we have found several very nice well stocked and comfortable places to stay with fabulous healing energy and very friendly, peaceful kind of places.
Many people live to work and forget that we are supposed to be working to live, so taking time away from thinking and doing is imperative for the health and wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. Even packing up a picnic and taking a hike with the kids and getting a little break from technology can revitalize and refresh our minds, giving us more energy and motivation to get things done.
Two of my favorite locations, which we are blessed to be within driving distance, are in the Sedona and Payson areas of Arizona. We love the energy of the trees and mountains, so these areas are perfect for a day trip or a weekend camping or cabin getaway!
For my husband’s 60th birthday, we found a very reasonably priced and extremely friendly family run cabin for two, which was close to great hiking areas and surrounded by so many birds. We found it incredibly relaxing and had fabulous energy! The owners made us feel so welcome and there were many different species of birds and cute, joyful hummingbirds! It certainly was a great way to practice being in the moment and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
We came home feeling like we had had a week away in a healing center. It was so healing to sit and watch so many hummingbirds and to relax by their coy fish pond, eating a lovely homemade, gourmet breakfast. If you compare it to the price of a hotel, it is really not much more expense and so worth it.
What is also nice about the cabins we stayed, they are great for couples retreats, very quiet and just so many hummingbirds! You could have such a good time hiking, picnicking, playing cards, doing puzzles or just relax while watching nature at its best. Not to mention, by cooking your own meals in their well equipped kitchen you can save a lot of expense since eating out several times a day gets so expensive!
Just being right there in nature with no noise of the hotel crowds, and being away from all the TV’s and computers, receiving the healing benefits of the trees and Earth, you will for sure come back refreshed and ready to roll. So book a trip and plan your picnics soon!
